Already have a bed base?

Do you already have a bed base for your new mattress? If you do, and you don’t want to buy a new base, you must measure the base and workout which of the sizes above you need to purchase.

How much space do you like to have when you sleep?

Do you like to make snow angels in your sleep? do you like to roll around or feel like you are sleeping luxuriously in the middle of the bed? Do you sleep with someone else and don’t like touching disturbing your sleep? If you say ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you should err towards a larger mattress size.

How much space do you have for a mattress?

Is your room quite small? How much other stuff do you need to fit in your room? Do you want to have room either side of the bed for two people to get in? These are the types of questions you should ask before you buy a new mattress. DOn’t guess – get a tape measure out and measure how much space you have so you know the best size mattress to get for the space you have.

How many people need to sleep on this mattress?

Are you a couple? If you are, you definitely need a double or larger. think about the size and sleeping habits of both of you and how you will both be most comfortable. You both need rest! Do you have a baby or kids who may end up in bed with you? Consider a king size or larger – remember kids get bigger and if they are still occasionally sleeping with you, you want to make sure you all have some space – and your not uncomfortably teetering on the edge of your mattress just to give everyone else room.
